Deciding between macOS software and a browser tab
The installed terminal is the answer where the Mac is a fixed working machine used every day. Chart templates, custom indicators and automated strategies live inside it, and a browser tab holds none of them. Against that, the setup stays on that computer and does not follow the trader to another one.
The browser route inverts the trade. It starts on any Mac, including a borrowed or managed one where an installer would be blocked, and it is quicker to return to after a restart or a system update. In Uganda, where the New York session opens in the late afternoon, that suits a trader who is not always at the same desk when it does.
Because both routes open the same account, the decision is reversible. The installed terminal can be the evening tool and the browser the daytime one, with no transfer between them.
